An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will disclose the energy efficiency of a home and rate the impact its CO2 emissions on the environment. Efficiency is rated on a scale of A – G, the most energy efficient homes being in band A. Currently most UK homes are in bands D and E. EPCs include recommendations on how to improve energy efficiency, cut fuel bills and reduce your carbon footprint. Your HIP can quickly and efficiently arrange for the issue of an EPC and show you how to maximise energy efficiency with the absolute minimum of hassle. Your HIP will produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) in 3 working days. Our team covers Devon and Somerset backed by a nationwide network of trusted accredited DEA’s in your local area. We will measure the following; The age and construction of the property Improved Heating Efficiency Your HIP will evaluate the efficiency of your boiler or heating system, checking controls, thermostats, timers etc. Improved Insulation Your HIP will assess loft and wall insulation and check the double glazing of doors and windows. We will work as quickly and unobtrusively as possible, and be happy to give you feedback and advise throughout the assessment. EU Directives on CO2 Emissions In the UK this directive became enacted in Part 5 of the Housing Act of 2004. The EPCs are the method of ensuring that the directives are adhered to. In addition to the requirements in relation to dwellings there is also a requirement for an EPC on the sale, rent or construction of buildings, other than dwellings with a floor area greater than 500m2. All energy assessment must be carried out by a qualified network of licensed individuals made up of trusted Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs). Your HIP are fully compliant with the directives. As well as providing you with an EPC we will provide you with information that can cut C02, cut fuel bills and improve your carbon footprint.
